What Every Career-Minded Student and Parent Should Know … and Probably Doesn’t

The career world is changing …. fast. Surviving and thriving will require savvy and this two-hour session will give you plenty. Parents and students will learn insider truths about overrated careers, under-the-radar careers, smart ideas on choosing the right career, ahead-of-the-pack ways to prepare for those careers, and job-search tactics to levitate a job application to the top of the pile. You can also volunteer for a Workover, in which our presenter will, as he does on his long-running NPR-San Francisco radio program, have you come away with a specific career target.

About the Presenter: Marty Nemko was named “The Bay Area’s Best Career Coach” by the San Francisco Bay Guardian and “Career Counselor Extraordinaire” by U.S. News. He has written articles on careers and higher education for The San Francisco Chronicle, The Atlantic, Washington Post, TIME, and Psychology Today. His eight books include “Cool Careers for Dummies.” Nemko holds a Ph.D. in educational psychology from U.C. Berkeley.

Lo Que Todos Los Estudiantes, Padres Y Madres Centrados En Las Profesiones Deberian Saber… Y Problablemente No Sepan

News. Ha escrito artículos sobre carreras y educación superior para The San Francisco Chronicle, The Atlantic, Washington Post, TIME y Psychology Today. Sus ocho libros incluyen “Cool Careers for Dummies”. Berkeley.

A presentation for
K-12 parents

Learn research-based strategies for raising healthy children in today’s fast-paced world. When we are too focused on grades and performance, we deny our children the time and energy they need to tackle the demanding work of growing up. In this presentation, you’ll learn how you can establish a healthier home environment, reduce academic stress without sacrificing achievement, and increase your children’s resilience, creativity, and well-being.
