Course Description: Participants will study state standards, examine annual plan formats, discuss the use of formats, and begin their annual plan outline with Instructor guidance.

  • Adopted teacher materials
  • Pacing guides
  • Assessment tools
  • Laptop (if possible)
  • Lunch and snacks

2 NVUSD/NCOE Salary Credits or 2 SSU academic units available for attending all dates.

Classroom Management for Effective Teaching

August 1st and 2nd, 2017

Course Description: Using the Harry Wong videotape series, “The First Days of School” participants will experience a facilitated discussion, role-play, and develop effective rules and procedures that will make their first days of school successful.

 Topic Includes:

  • Increasing positive student behavior
  • Setting the stage for success
  • Cooperative learning
  • The well-managed classroom
  • Developing lesson plans for student mastery
  • Characteristics of a highly effective teacher

Please bring lunch and a snack
