Napa County Office Education Volunteer Programs support volunteer programs within nonprofit and educational organizations that improve the lives of children and families. We currently run two statewide programs. The Volunteer Infrastructure Project (VIP) focuses on building high value volunteer capacity in 100 nonprofit agencies and educational programs. The CalPREP program uses volunteers to provide one on one mentoring to students on college preparatory curriculum at 40 sites around California.
Volunteer Infrastructure – CalSERVES VIP
The Volunteer Infrastructure Program (VIP) focuses on building high value volunteer capacity in nonprofit agencies and educational programs. Teams of AmeriCorps members are placed in communities to provide support for volunteer programs in service organizations across California. VIP Fellows work “behind the scenes” of service, allowing volunteers to take part in necessary programs, and ensuring that the community’s needs are met.
College/Career Mentoring – CalPREP
The CalPREP program uses volunteers to provide college and career readiness one-on-one mentoring. Each AmeriCorps CalPREP Fellow focuses on generating volunteers and building infrastructure at their assigned Partner Site to engage community volunteers in support of struggling students.
