ROP HOSPITALITY, TOURISM & FOOD SERVICE
Prepare yourself for an exciting career in one of the largest industries in Napa Valley. This class will explore opportunities in hospitality, culinary arts and international tourism. Class work, community projects, field trips and speakers will help students develop the skills necessary to seek entry into this field or prepare for further study. Topics covered include food preparation and cost analysis, nutrition, event planning, customer relations, food safety and sanitation, industry math and technical writing. Hands-on experience with food preparation will be included. Students will also learn some of the complexities of operating their own hospitality business. Students will have the opportunity to become state-certified in food safety and sanitation. Students may take two levels of this course. Earn up to ten elective credits per year toward high school graduation.
