ROP COMPANION ANIMAL CARE & MANAGEMENT

This course provides entry-level training in the veterinary assistant field. The course includes instruction in animal care to include: health and safety, sanitation, anatomy, physiology, animal behavior, animal nutrition, medical terminology, infectious diseases, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. In addition students will receive instruction in the business/financial aspects of the companion animal enterprise. As part of the instruction, reinforcement of basic skills is provided to assist students in practicing communication skills, speaking clearly using Standard English, utilizing listening skills to follow directions, practicing basic math skills and reading to gain information and to perform assignments an tasks directed. Earn ten elective credits per year toward high school graduation.

  • Agricultural Biology or instructors consent
