Overview of Instructional Technology Department

As the 21st century learning environment emerges, technology is enhancing the way teachers teach and students learn. To support this new paradigm, Napa County Office of Education provides professional development and resources to enrich instructional strategies and integrate technology. The Instructional Technology program collaborates with many internal and external partners to develop programs, workshops and materials to increase student learning and achievement. This intensive support, coupled with the effective use of technology expands educators’ ability to engage students in real-world, authentic learning experiences that promote 21st century readiness.

Internal Program Support

The Instructional Technology program provides the following services to Napa County Office of Education internal programs:

• Resources and professional development for educators to effectively integrate

technology into curriculum and instruction

• Development and maintenance of technology planning documents

• Actively seeks out partnership, funding, and grant opportunities

External District and School Support

The Instructional Technology program also provides the following services to Napa County Districts and Schools:

• Resources and professional development for educators to effectively integrate technology into curriculum and instruction, using current technology such as video and iPads.

• Resources and professional development in the area of effective use of data management and analysis to inform instruction and sustain school improvement

• Technical assistance and support with technology planning and implementation

• Technical assistance in accessing funding and grant opportunities
