BTSA Works!
Recognizing the complexity of the profession, combined with the rigors of teaching diverse students to achieve high standards, the California legislature continues to fully fund BTSA programs so that they can provide high-level support to first and second year teachers during this critical time. A significant bank of data shows that BTSA works! Teachers who participate in the program stay in the profession and are highly-prized by their districts.
The Napa County BTSA program offers an approved Induction program through which candidates can clear their credentials with support and at a significantly lower cost than through college coursework. It's free!
Additionally, university credit is offered for both required seminars and optional instructional skills workshop series, assisting the beginning teacher to move quickly across the salary schedule. (See
Workshops for Year-One and for Year-Two participants for more information).
Completion Requirements:
Full NCBTSA Induction requirements may be found by clicking on "
Candidate Requirements for Year-One and Year-Two." Attendance at seminars, when expected, ensures that all candidates and their Support Providers are fully informed of completion requirements, are cognizant of all expectations for exhibiting competence, and are periodically apprised of the Participating Teacher's progress.
